Senior & Intermediate Interior Designer
Experience in large-scale mixed-use and retail project is required. Requirements include strong design skill with graphic representation, extensive experience in project management and on-site coordination skills, team leadership, coordination, and communication skill; Strong knowledge of materials use and selections, and knowledge in local construction and MEP practices; Skillful in using of AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3dmax, Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred candidate requires international practice experience and fluent language skills in both Mandarin and English. Experience: 6-10 years Education: professional degree required.
Senior Level Project Manager, Project Designer, and Project Architect
Experience in large scale mixed-use design and construction is required. Requirements include graphic representation, team leadership, coordination and management skill, client service and communication skill, fluent verbal and written language skills in both Mandarin and English, and strong knowledge of Chinese building codes and construction practices. Candidate with proven international practice experience is preferred. Experience: 10 years plus and international experience preferred. Education: Professional degree in Architecture.
Intermediate Level & Junior Level Project Designer and Project Architect
Experience in large scale mixed-use planning and design is preferred. Requirements include conceptual creation and graphic representation, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, and related computer skills, team work skill, and verbal and written language skills in both Mandarin and English. Candidate with knowledge of Chinese construction practices is preferred. Experience: 4-9 years, international experience preferred. Education: Professional degree in Architecture.
Senior Project Architect (work location in Shanghai or Beijing)
Summary: This is an experienced project architect assigned to complex projects and accounts involving client contact and leadership responsibilities. Senior PA performs architectural design and development work for projects involving construction of new buildings and alternation of existing buildings and facilities. Position has responsibility for overall coordination of architectural work for projects, typically including significant client interface, coordination of specifications and construction administration, and leading the work of other staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
• Works with clients to identify objectives and formulate options; conceptualizes total project and establishes key work priorities for development of design, scheduling and budgeting. • Communicates and strategizes by partnering with local and remote project teams and translates project objectives into workable solutions; evaluates alternatives, and maintains quality technical and design control. • Prepares designs, working drawings, specifications and cost estimates for projects; initiates and develops design and construction documents for projects. • Maintains records to document phases of client/architect/contractor relationship and activities. • Provides English to Mandarin and Mandarin to English translation as required. • Leads the work of other architectural and with interior design staff. • Provides expertise in a specific project type to team members, client, consultants, and contractors. • May participate in marketing efforts, including presentations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• College-level degree in Architecture or related field required. • 10 years experience as a professional architect required, including at least three years as a Project Architect. • One year minimum previous supervisory and personnel management required. • Fluent in Mandarin and English (Speaking, reading, & writing) • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English and in Mandarin; both orally and in writing. • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment. • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail. • Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined. • Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others. • Accomplished ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
POSITION: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Executive Assistant at Callison (work location in Shanghai or Beijing) will be required to demonstrate the ability to handle all correspondence and project-related documentation for the Principal. With a fluency in both English and Mandarin, the Executive Assistant must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with all firm members and potential and existing clients. This position will also take an active role on the Administrative and Operations teams, by dedicating essential time and participation during designated encounters. QUALIFICATIONS: • Proven initiative as an Executive Assistant with a minimum of four years experience. • Ability to handle strict confidential information relating to the Principal, finance/accounting and company affairs, including but not limited to current and potential client relationships. • Must have a positive, approachable and proactive attitude. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Must be very detail oriented and organized. • High proficiency in Word, Excel and a working knowledge of a page-layout program. • Experience and proficiency in the creation, use and maintenance of databases. • Ability to proofread your own work and that of others with a high degree of accuracy. • Provide superior professional administrative support. • Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin. • Experience in successfully handling deadlines and multi-tasking with little guidance. • Must work well independently as well as within a team environment. • Must have some knowledge of marketing and business development concepts. • Ability to effectively deal with client contacts at all levels. • Must be capable of working in partnership with the Principal in follow-ups to mailings and outreach, connection development, meetings in conclusion to mailings. • Must be willing to travel if necessary. • Must have prior experience with booking travel arrangements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proofread (including suggesting edits/rewriting where appropriate/necessary) and format Principal’s documents. Assemble and distribute the accompanying marketing materials with correspondence. Provide proofing and editing services for other staff members as time allows. Prepare shipments for mailing, courier or overnight services. Act as a backup to other administrative staff members. • Assist with building and maintenance of a constantly evolving database with client communication notes, action highlights, and follow up expectations, by partnering with the Marketing team. • Act as a liaison for clients during Principal’s absence – this includes, but is not limited to: gathering critical information they have requested on projects, shipping deliverables, etc. and keeping other team members updated on what actions have transpired when appropriate. Follow-up and relationship building will be required with Principal’s potential and existing clients. • Craft effective correspondence to clients and others as well as develop basic proposal letters based on existing templates. When requested draft potential outreach letters and responses to inquiries for Principal’s consideration. • Create and maintain client files/briefs for Principal’s use and have a system in place that allows for quick reference when requested by the Principal. When possible, deliver and ensure that Principal can access materials with ease when he is working remotely. Open job numbers for Principal’s projects and for other team members when requested. • Schedule all of the Principal’s appointments, both business and personal, on Microsoft Outlook Calendar. Contact clients to set appointments for the Principal and confirm meetings two days prior when appropriate. Keep Principal apprised when meetings have been set, and maintain a list of pending meetings to be set. Make recommendations to Principal based on ongoing correspondence of meetings to consider initiating. • Coordinate frequent and complicated business trips for Principal, arrange travel needs, schedule meetings and assemble and ship marketing materials for business development purposes. Use Principals preferences and fiscal responsibility in terms of firm travel dollars spent and charged to the client in the decision making process. • Provide guidance and formal instruction to Principal in spoken and written Mandarin. • Translate documents from Mandarin to English and from English to Mandarin as requested by Principal. • Input Principal's time into computer tracking program (Aegis) every two-weeks, verify that time is being applied to correct job code and phase of the project. • Prepare Principal’s expense reports and turn in all receipts with explanations on expenditures. • Work as a personal assistant to the Principal. Duties may include planning personal travel, coordinating day-to-day finances, making arrangements for banking, utilities, car repairs and running errands, among other responsibilities. • Provide relief coverage for front desk during lunch, breaks, vacation and illness as needed along with other administrative staff. • Maintain Principal’s office space. • Give office tours to clients, students or other groups as required. • Share in the responsibility of maintaining general cleanliness of office space, including the kitchens, basket displays and conference rooms. • Other job related duties as assigned by supervisor. • Coordinate with remote and local IT administrators to trouble-shoot and resolve associated issues.
